On September 9, 2026, representatives of Prison Ministry India – Tamil Nadu met Mr. Shanmuga Sundaram, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons, at his office in Vellore to discuss the rehabilitation of Mr. Suresh, a prisoner seeking premature release.
During the meeting, the team informed the DIG that an official letter had been submitted requesting that Mr. Suresh be admitted to Kolbe Home, where he would receive accommodation, guidance, and support as part of his reintegration into society.
Mr. Shanmuga Sundaram received the information positively and acknowledged the ministry’s efforts to provide rehabilitation and aftercare for released prisoners. The meeting reflected the ongoing collaboration between the Prison Department and Prison Ministry in promoting the welfare, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration of inmates.
