On August 22, 2026, Prison Ministry India – Madurai celebrated the Feast of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Madurai Central Prison, commemorating the life and witness of the patron saint of prison ministry.

The celebration was conducted in the presence of the Superintendent in charge of the Prison and was led by Rev. Fr. James Paul, Coordinator of Prison Ministry India – Madurai. The gathering provided an opportunity for inmates and prison staff to reflect on the extraordinary life of St. Maximilian Kolbe, whose sacrifice, courage, and unconditional love continue to inspire people around the world.
