Compassion in Action

On August 5, 2026, Prison Ministry India – Tamil Nadu and the PMI Chennai Unit organized a visit to Puzhal Prison–III, reaffirming their commitment to the care, dignity, and rehabilitation of inmates.

As part of the visit, a Saree Distribution Programme was conducted for the women inmates in the gracious presence of Most Rev. Dr. Ambrose Pitchaimuthu, Chairman of Prison Ministry India – Tamil Nadu and Bishop of Vellore. The distribution was a gesture of compassion and solidarity, aimed at uplifting the women inmates and assuring them of the community’s care and concern.

The programme highlighted the ministry’s ongoing efforts to promote the welfare and dignity of prisoners through meaningful outreach initiatives. By extending practical support and encouragement, the ministry continues to foster hope and rehabilitation among those in custody.

The event was held in the presence of Mrs. Nikhila Nagendran, Superintendent of Puzhal Prison–III, whose cooperation and support greatly contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. The visit served as a reminder that small acts of kindness can bring comfort, dignity, and renewed hope to those living behind prison walls.
