On September 10, 2026, Prison Ministry India – Trichy donated sports equipment to the Central Prison, Tiruchirappalli, for the benefit of the inmates. The initiative was undertaken to encourage greater participation in sports and recreational activities within the prison community.
The programme was successfully organized and coordinated by Rev. Fr. Benjamin Raj, Coordinator of PMI Trichy, whose dedicated efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the event.
By providing sports equipment, the ministry aims to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and positive mental well-being among inmates. Recreational activities play an important role in rehabilitation by fostering self-confidence, reducing stress, and encouraging constructive use of time.
