On August 22, 2026, Prison Ministry India – Coimbatore, in collaboration with PSG Hospitals and the Prison Administration, successfully organized a Comprehensive Medical Camp at Coimbatore Central Prison. The initiative was aimed at promoting the health and well-being of inmates through specialized medical care and consultation.
A total of 283 inmates, including 45 women prisoners, benefited from the camp. Medical services were provided by specialists from various departments, including General Medicine, Dentistry, Dermatology (Skin), ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat), and Orthopaedics, ensuring that inmates received comprehensive health assessments and treatment.
The programme was conducted in the presence of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Prisons, Coimbatore Region, the Superintendent of the Prison, and the Jailor, whose support and cooperation contributed significantly to the success of the camp.
The medical camp reflected the shared commitment of Prison Ministry India, healthcare professionals, and prison authorities to uphold the dignity and welfare of prisoners. By providing access to quality healthcare services, the initiative brought care, compassion, and hope to those living behind prison walls, while promoting a healthier prison community.
