


On July 11, 2026, Prison Ministry India – Chennai organized an Educational Scholarship Programme to support the education of children from prisoners’ families. The initiative reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to empowering young minds through education and helping families overcome the challenges associated with incarceration.
A total of ₹3,00,000 in educational scholarships was distributed to 110 students, encouraging them to pursue their academic goals with confidence and hope. The scholarships were presented by Mr. I.G. Kanagaraj, who attended the programme as the Chief Guest.
The event was also graced by Rev. Fr. Gilbert J., State Coordinator of Prison Ministry India – Tamil Nadu, and Mr. Jesuraja, State Secretary, whose presence inspired both the students and their families. The programme was efficiently coordinated by Rev. Fr. Prakash, ensuring its smooth and successful execution.
Following the scholarship distribution, lunch was served to all the participants, fostering fellowship and community spirit. The day concluded with a Volunteers’ Meeting, where members reviewed the ministry’s ongoing initiatives and discussed future plans to strengthen their mission of serving prisoners and their families.
